INSTRUCTIONS

Print out one or more copies of the Seagull Exercise Challenge chart.

Feel free to start the challenge at any time. Complete the chart for every day you complete a total of 30 minutes of exercise. Note what kind of exercise you did. *See an example of how the chart is completed below. You can also see a list of sample exercises listed here: www.sunsethillspta.org/exercise.

Once the chart is complete, have your parent sign and date the chart. Feel free to mark whether you completed the bonus challenges.

Post your chart to the PTA Seesaw page according to your grade.
Every time you turn in your completed chart, you will earn prizes!

Sample Completed Chart
Sample Exercises to Achieve One Day’s Goal of
30 minutes total aerobic (heart-pumping) exercise. Breaks are ok.
TK/K/1st/2nd Graders
-
Combination of any activities below for 30 minutes total
-
10 jumping jacks and running 5 laps around the house
-
Climbing 7 times up and 7 times down the stairs
-
30 minutes of biking/scooter
-
30 minutes of Just Dance/Go Noodle/Cosmic Kids Yoga on YouTube
-
30 minutes of walking/hiking/jogging
-
30 minutes of swimming
-
30 minutes of jump rope/hula hooping/trampolining
-
30 minutes of wrestling/gymnastics/dancing
-
30 minutes of a sport (swim, basketball, etc.)

30 minutes of hitting a balloon in the air

Drink 5 cups of water/day

Wearing sunblock if you go outside for more than 15 minutes
The CDC recommends 60 minutes a day of exercise for children. But given the challenges COVID presents, we hope that your child can at least achieve 4 days of aerobic exercise per day in combination with other healthy habits such as eating and sleeping well, wearing sunblock when outdoors for more than 15 minutes, and drinking five 8 oz. cups of water a day.
If your child has any medical condition that may preclude your child from participating in any of these activities, please contact your child’s physician prior to participation.
